Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi Meets with Swiss, EU, and International Migration Organization Leaders
Budapest, Hungary: November 13, 2024

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi visited Hungary and met with key leaders from Switzerland, the European Union, and international migration organizations. During his visit, the Interior Minister held meetings with Swiss Migration Minister Chirstine Schraner Burner, EU Migration and Home Affairs Chief Johannes Luchner, International Centre for Migration Policy Development Head Michael Spindelegger. The issues of mutual interest, including combating irregular migration and human trafficking were focused in these meetings. The leaders emphasized the need for joint actions to address these challenges. The Interior Minister stated that human trafficking has become a complex, multi-faceted issue that no country can tackle alone, and that global challenges require global policies. He welcomed cooperation from the European Union and migration policy development organizations, noting that sustainable actions today can create a better future for upcoming generations. In order to achieve this, Mohsin Naqvi stressed the importance of enhanced collaboration between delegations and institutions, Specialized training for officers from relevant institutions with support from Switzerland, the EU, and international migration policy development organizations. The three delegations assured Mohsin Naqvi of their commitment to increasing cooperation. Pakistan's Ambassador to Hungary Asif Hussain Memon and relevant diplomatic officials were also present during the meetings.
