The Minister welcomed Ambassador Neziroglu, and said that Türkiye is so close to our hearts. We have centuries old deep cultural and historical ties between two countries. He recalled his pleasant memories during his official visits to Türkiye and expressed gratitude for unwavering support of Türkiye for Pakistan at international fora. Further, Minister stressed upon the need to deepen cooperation in trade and investment. He said that housing is the top priority of this government and termed it a timely visit of the Ambassador when the housing ministry was ambitiously looking to bring forward the ideas and solutions for housing problems in Pakistan. Ambassador thanked the minister on warm welcome and said that they want to learn from experiences of each other. He expressed his strong desire to engage in bilateral and even trilateral relations with Pakistan in multiple sectors. He mentioned about TOKi, the housing administration of republic of Türkiye that was established in 1984 to solve housing problem for low- and middle-income strata of society. While underscoring the experience sharing programs, ambassador expressed utmost willingness to contribute in housing sector of the country. While referring to Prime Minister’s vision that Pakistan needs investment and trade but not aid, minister said that Pakistan being a huge market has profitable prospects in housing sector. There is way more opportunities and capacities, on both sides, particularly in this sectors that can be explored. He commended the art of community gardens in Türkiye and showed his readiness to indulge in meaningful engagements to replicate TOKi’s successful models here in Pakistan. The meeting concluded with the both side reaffirming their strong commitment to working closely to strengthen bilateral relations.
