Finance Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Ms. Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank. They discussed Pakistan’s development priorities, supported by the Country Partnership Framework (CPF). The Finance Minister briefed Ms. Bjerde on the Joint Domestic Resource Mobilization Initiative (JDRMI), launched with the support of the World Bank and IMF. He welcomed the Board’s decision not to levy any commitment fee for four years on PforR and Investment Project Financing (IPF) instruments. The Minister appreciated that the Bank was considering a grant facility for project preparation and noted with satisfaction that IDA replenishment was progressing smoothly. Both sides agreed to continue efforts to sustain recent improvements in disbursements. The Finance Minister requested capacity-building workshops for implementing agencies to ensure better project preparation, leading to improved implementation.
