Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with Azerbaijan's Minister of State for Interior Aliyev Ismat Rashid in Istanbul. During the meeting bilateral cooperation and matters of mutual interest were discussed in detail. Minister Aliyev praised Pakistan Navy's successful operation, seizing 2400 kg of narcotics worth $145 million in the North Arabian Sea a few days ago. He commended the efforts of Pakistani authorities under the leadership of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Minister Aliyev also visited the Pakistani Pavilion at SAHA Expo. During the visit, he showed keen interest in Pakistani products and admired the modern equipment and machinery of Pakistan Ordnance Factory. During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the need fo enhancing cooperation in various sectors including human trafficking, Border management and counter-narcotics. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening fraternal ties. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the future on a sustainable basis. Mohsin Naqvi invited Minister Aliyev to visit Pakistan, while Minister Aliyev also extended an invitation to Mohsin Naqvi to visit Baku. The Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stressed, "Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy excellent brotherly relations; we must work to further enhance bilateral ties." He stated that Azerbaijan is a brotherly Islamic Country and both countries have strong historical and cultural ties. Pakistan's Ambassador to Turkey, Dr. Yusuf Junaid was also present on the occasion.
