NDMA Conducts Training on Health Emergencies Response and Minimum Initial Service Package for vulnerable community
Gilgit: September 25, 2024

NDMA's Gender and Child Cell (GCC) in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is conducting 3-day training on the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for emergency health responders in Gilgit from 25-27, September. This comprehensive training aims to enhance the capacity of responders to provide critical sexual and reproductive health services during humanitarian crises. The primary objective of this training is to ensure that emergency health responders are equipped to provide lifesaving services, particularly in situations where women and girls are most vulnerable. The MISP is a set of priority services designed to prevent excess maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality, sexual violence, and unintended pregnancies. The orientation training will cover essential topics, including coordination and planning to implement the MISP, clinical services pertaining to prevention of HIV and other STIs, and prevention of sexual violence. This training is a testament to the ongoing partnership between NDMA and UNFPA to strengthen disaster management and response in Pakistan. By enhancing the capacity of emergency responders, this initiative will contribute significantly to saving lives and reducing morbidity and mortality during humanitarian crises. NDMA's Gender and Child Cell and UNFPA remain committed to promoting disaster resilience and ensuring that vulnerable populations receive critical services during emergencies. This orientation training is a crucial step towards achieving this goal.
