Maintaining efforts for transparency and inclusion with Intellectual Property (IP) stakeholders, the Chairperson IPO-Pakistan, Ambassador (r) Farukh Amil, met with a delegation from the Pakistan Intellectual Property Rights Association (PIPRA) comprising Mr. Sultan Ahmed Sheikh, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan (Past Chairman PIPRA), Syed Aquil Ali Shah (Chairman PIPRA), Mr. Saleem Ghulam Hussain, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan (Senior Vice Chairman PIPRA), Salman Ahmed Sheikh, Advocate High Court (Member Managing Committee PIPRA), and Mr. Didar Karim, Advocate High Court (Honorary Secretary PIPRA). The meeting focused on IP-related issues, with the delegation highlighting key challenges such as Pakistan's accession to international instruments, amendments to IP laws, and fee structures. The Chairperson IPO-Pakistan reiterated his appreciation of the private sector's role in enhancing the IP system in Pakistan and assured the delegation that IPO Pakistan would support proposals from the lawyers' community to strengthen the IP system and improve service delivery. The Chairperson also briefed the delegation on recent developments at IPO Pakistan. Senior officials, Mr. Muhammad Rafiq, Registrar of Trademarks, Syed Nasrullah, Registrar of Copyright, and Ms. Zubia Hassan, Controller of Patents, were also present during the meeting.
