NDMA'S HYDROLOGICAL OUTLOOK

According to Hydrological outlook of rivers and water reservoirs, low Level flows are expected in catchment of Mangla Dam (Azad Jammu & Kashmir Rivers). Low to Medium level flows expected in River Chenab at Marala, Khanki & Q.Abd along with Nullah's / Streams of Pir Panjal Range (Northeastern Punjab) Medium Level expected in River Kabul and its tributaries (Attock Khairabad, Nowshera, Adezai Bridge). Medium Level flows are expected in River Indus at Kalabagh and Chashma along with Taunsa & Guddu Barrages.Low to Medium Flows are expected in Hill torrents of DG Khan division as well as Zhob, Sibi and Kalat divisions. As result of above, Flash flooding is expected in Upper KP divisions, Nullahs of Ravi & Chenab Catchments as well as Nullahs of Zhob, Sibbi, Nasirabad & Kalat divisions. Settlements under the flood plains of Chashma-Taunsa and Taunsa-Guddu reach may be affected. The public is advised to stay informed by keeping track of weather updates and alerts.NDMA has launched the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert application, available on Google Play Store and iOS App Store, to provide timely alerts, advisories, and guidelines to the public. Do not attempt to walk, swim, or drive through flooded waters. Use alternative routes to avoid areas prone to flooding. Do not walk, swim, or drive through flood waters. Remember, just six inches of moving water can knock you down, and one foot can sweep your vehicle away. Stay off bridges over fast-moving water. Evacuate from the exposed areas if told to do so by the authorities. Residents of these areas are advised to remain vigilant and follow guidance from local authorities. NDMA has issued instructions to all relevant departments to take necessary precautions to mitigate the possible effects of flooding and extreme weather.
