Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) hosted its 37th Medal and Prize Distribution Ceremony on August 6, 2024, at Islamabad Model College for Boys, H-9, Islamabad. This annual event honors students who have achieve top three positions in board examinations at the Secondary and Higher Secondary levels. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, as Chief Guest. Syed Junaid Akhlaq, Chairman FBISE, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed chief guest, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. In his speech, the Chairman commended the talent and dedication of the award-winning students and highlighted the accomplishments of the Federal Board in advancing education. He also acknowledged the invaluable support of parents and teachers in the students' remarkable achievements and recognized the contributions of heads of national and international educational institutions affiliated with the Federal Board for their outstanding academic performance. On this occasion, Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani, Federal Secretary Education, praised the achievements of the students who secured top positions in his address. He emphasized that the students should continue their hard work in the future and share their knowledge with other students. He further stated that education should be a means of elevating the character of the students and bring humility in them. He made special mention of the initiatives taken by the Federal government in public sector educational institutions, including the establishment of IT parks in schools, providing meals to students in schools, setting up art rooms, introducing mind games in schools to enhance students' mental abilities, and the beautification of schools. He also made a special mention of the inauguration of Pink Buses for female commuters of the Federal Capital. He said that these buses will provide dignified means of transport to women traveling in Islamabad. The Chief Guest of the occasion, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui presented medals, cash prizes, laptops, and merit certificates to fifty exceptional students who excelled in the Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations of 2022 and 2023. These awards celebrate the students' hard work and accomplishments. In his address, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui praised the position-holder students for their commitment and achievements and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their future endeavors. He also outlined government initiatives aimed at enhancing educational standards for the benefit of students and lauded the examination reforms introduced by the Federal Board, declaring FBISE as a model institution in the country. This year, FBISE honored twenty-five students from Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations 2022 (seven at the Secondary level and eighteen at the Higher Secondary level). Similarly, twenty-five students were awarded prizes on the basis of SSC and HSSC 2023 examinations (ten at the Secondary level and fifteen at the Higher Secondary level) based on their exemplary performance.
