Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi met a delegation led by Deputy Speaker of New York Assembly, Philip Ramos at the Ministry of Interior. Matters of mutual interest, including education, health, policing, and economic cooperation were discussed during the meeting. It was agreed to provide employment opportunities to qualified Pakistani nurses in New York after completing the necessary process. A plan will be prepared to utilize opportunities for cooperation in health, education, and economic sectors. The Deputy Speaker of New York Assembly extended an invitation to the Federal Minister for Interior to visit New York. Philip Ramos said that the Pakistani community in America is rendering valuable services in every field. He highlighted that there is a shortage of qualified nurses in America, and Pakistan has immense potential in this regard. He added that promotion of bilateral cooperation will benefit the people of both countries. Interior Minister said that there are vast opportunities for mutual cooperation in education, health, and economic development. Mohsin Naqvi stated that during his tenure in Punjab, he paid special attention to the nursing sector and doubled the number of nursing students and a plan has also been prepared to increase the number of nurses in Islamabad. He said that Qualified Pakistani nurses will be provided all necessary assistance to work in New York. He added that during his recent visit to New York, positive discussions were held with the New York Police Department to enhance cooperation with the Islamabad Police and a delegation from Islamabad Police will soon visit New York. He emphasized that we will identify new areas for cooperation and take immediate action to further enhance mutual cooperation. He understood that he will personally monitor the progress of all actions taken in this regard. The delegation included New York Assembly member Alec Krasny, Chairman of American Pakistani Public Affairs, Dr. Ejaz Ahmad, President of New York Chapter, Tariq Khan, President Imtiaz Rahi, Director Dr. Pervez Iqbal, former Executive Director Athar Tirmizi, and Vice President of Texas, Dr. Khalid Mahmood.
