Mr. Muhammad Khalid Siddiq, Joint Technological Advisor & Spokes Person was talking to the delegation of Chinese representatives of variety of science & technology related companies. He thanked the delegation for visiting the Ministry of Science & technology on behalf of the Federal Minister for Science & Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain and Federal Secretary Ministry of Science & Technology, Mr. Fazal Abbas Maken.

The delegation consisted on members and representatives of variety of Chinese companies from the fields of electronics, energy, automobiles, petro-chemicals and agricultural sector. The president of the Delegation was very happy to have visited Pakistan. He also paid his gratitude over the full interest of Ministry of Science & Technology in carrying out talks of mutual interest in energy, petro-chemicals and agriculture etc.

“Science & Technology are the dire need for any country to progress in today’s world. Pakistan is lucky to have a friend like China who has shown full interest and commitment in fulfilling the needs of Pakistan in fields of Science & Technology,” said the spokes person. “We also assure the Chinese friends of our cooperation and technical collaboration for mutual benefit of the two brotherly countries,” he added.

The delegation also showed great interest in National Science & Technology Park being constructed in Islamabad with cooperation from China under the MoU signed by the Minister Science & Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain and his Chinese counterpart in the last quarter of 2015.

Dr. Shahzad Alam, Chairman PCSIR invited the Chinese Delegation to pay a visit to PCSIR laboratories in Lahore while they are going to be there for the Business Forum. He also informed the delegation about the 800 Million Rupees worth of new PCSIR laboratory being set up in Gawadar. The delegation was very glad to know the capabilities of PCSIR laboratories all over the country.

Dr. Basharat, Director General, National Institute for Electronics, also invited the delegation to pay a visit to his institution. Dr. Arshad Malik, CIIT, Ms Rabia, Director NUST, Dr. Sohail Zaqi, Head, PCRET also attended the meeting.

The Chinese delegation thanked the Ministry representatives for their hospitality and showed great interest in visiting Islamabad again for discussing mutual areas of interest in near future.
