Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Housing and Works, presided over the 56th meeting of Board of Directors of Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHA-F). Meeting was also attended by Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash, Secretary Housing and Works, and other senior officers of the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Finance, CDA, DG FGEHA and MD PHA-F. The agenda items relating to different development projects of PHAF were presented before the Board. Detailed discussions were made and different proposals/strategies to augment the pace of development work on various ongoing projects were deliberated and decisions were taken accordingly. During the meeting, reservation of allotment quota of plots/flats to the employees of Ministry of Housing and Works and its attached departments, FGEHA and PHAF also came under discussion. Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, expressed his dissatisfaction on the reservation of such quota and stated that PHA-F and FGEHA are the custodian of the money deposited by the federal government employees, for the allotment of plots/flats. He was of the view that these two organizations are actually the trusties of hard earned money of the federal government employees. Allocation of quota for allotment to employees of Ministry and its attached departments, PHA-F, FGEHA and the deputationists in these organizations not included in the terms and conditions of their services. Therefore, allotments infuture should be made on open merit basis. The minister further directed that this agenda item be included for decision in the upcoming Board of Directors meetings of PHA-F and FGEHA. Additionally, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada expressed his displeasure on purchase of a 2400cc luxury vehicle by PHA-F, deeming it a misuse of the hard-earned money deposited by federal government employees. The board unanimously agreed that this vehicle should immediately be auctioned through transparent process.
