Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs attended the International Conference on Religious Leaders 2024 in Kuala Lumpur on 7-8 May 2024. Addressing the conference he highlighted that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony, which emphasize compassion, tolerance, and coexistence. He added that the teachings of Islam promote the well-being of all individuals and encourage the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. The Federal Minister also highlighted that Muslim Ummah faces the joint challenge of Islamophobia and expressed the need for strengthening of linkages & enhance collaboration to meet this challenge. On the sidelines of the event, the Minister also met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Both sides reiterated the mutual desire to further strengthen the existing excellent bilateral relations to the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries. During the visit, the Minister also met with Senator Dr Haji Mohd Na’im, Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) and Mr. Abdul Rashid Hussain, Chairman of Malaysia's Hajj Directorate. Federal Minister Mr. Salik Hussain also extended invitation to Mr. Abdul Rashid Hussain to visit Pakistan, which he accepted.
