PAKISTAN ATTACHES HIGH IMPORTANCE TO ITS RELATIONS WITH IRAN: MIAN RIAZ HUSSAIN PIRZADA

H.E. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan called on Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Housing and Works. During the course of meeting, both sides discussed various bilateral issues. Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that our relations have always been marked by trust, mutual understanding and close cooperation to which Pakistan attributes high importance. He further said that it was an honor for him to meet and welcome H.E. Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi, and accompany him throughout his visit to Pakistan. In a significant diplomatic development, the Ambassador of Iran has been recognized for his tireless efforts in strengthening the relationship between Iran and Pakistan and Minister expressed deep appreciation for the Ambassador's dedicated work. The meeting emphasized the shared commitment of Iran and Pakistan to standing up for the rights of the people of Kashmir and Palestine. Both countries have been steadfast in their support for these long-standing conflicts, providing a crucial voice on the global stage. Notably, the Minister praised the stance taken by Iran on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, where the world has witnessed a concerning silence from so-called human rights advocates. The Minister's commendation highlighted the importance of Iran's principled position in the face of this grave injustice. During the meeting, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, informed the Iranian Ambassador that the message of the Iranian President for the Prime Minister of Pakistan had been duly conveyed. Furthermore, the Minister himself had the opportunity to deliver the Iranian President's message to the people of Pakistan through a speech in the National Assembly. H.E. Reza Amiri Moghaddam commended the efforts and arrangements made by the government to facilitate the visit of Iranian president, underscoring the importance of such high-level exchanges in strengthening bilateral ties. He expressed appreciation for Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, about his speech in the National Assembly of Pakistan upon Iranian President’s recent visit to Pakistan. Also, he highlighted the positive outcomes of the visit, including the release and transfer of Pakistani prisoners held in Iran, as per mutual understanding. Ambassador Moghaddam expressed hope for similar reciprocal actions by Pakistan regarding Iranian prisoners in Pakistan. Furthermore, H.E extended full support to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims visiting holy sites in Iran, emphasizing that they are allowed to travel using their own buses and security. The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Iran and Pakistan, fostering cooperation across various fields for the mutual benefit of both nations. Muhammad Ashfaq Ghumman, Additional Secretary Housing, and other officers of the Iranian embassy also attended the meeting.
