A delegation of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) called on Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja in her office on Friday. Matters related to digital gender inclusion, and digital transformation were discussed in the meeting. While talking to delegation, Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima said that women access to technology and Internet is vital in this era of information technology. She said that the present government is committed to end digital gender divide for empowering women. Shaza Fatima noted that the development of Digital Gender Inclusion Strategy is a positive step, as this Strategy will be helpful in removing hurdles in the way of using mobile phone and information and communication technology by the women. She said that the practical inclusion of women is aimed at to establish the digital ecosystem having equal opportunities for all. The delegation said that the PTA is taking every possible steps for the development of telecom sector through digital inclusion. Earlier, the PTA delegation gave presentation on Digital gender inclusion to Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima.She appreciated the work of team PTA regarding the Digital gender inclusion. The delegation included Ms Syeda Shafaq Karim , PTA Director Wireless Licensing & Head of Digital Gender Inclusion Committee, Ms. Rabeeya Pervez , Director Coord / Member of Committee, and Ms Malahat Obaid , Director PR / Member of Committee./Ends
