PR No.108 36th Aedb Board Meeting Islamabad: March 14, 2016

The 36th Board Meeting of the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) was held at AEDB, Islamabad on 14th March, 2016 under the chairmanship of Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Water & Power. The Board was briefed about the current status of renewable energy projects and the initiatives taken by AEDB for development of RE sector.

The Board discussed matters relating to renewable energy projects as well as organizational matters of AEDB. Among the major decisions taken during the meeting, the Board approved inclusion of different alternative and renewable energy technologies such as geothermal, wave energy etc. under the scope of Renewable Energy Policy 2006. The Board also approved revised standard Energy Purchase Agreement (EPA) for solar power projects based on the new Upfront Tariff for solar power projects announced recently by NEPRA.
