PR No. 18 Ethiopian Delegation to Pakistan called on Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr Shamshad Akhtar Islamabad: February 2nd, 2024

Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar was called on by a delegation from Ethiopia led by His Excellency Dr. Eyob Tekalign Tolina State Minister of Fiscal Policy and Public Finance of Ethiopia today on February 2, 2024 in Islamabad. Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar welcomed H.E Dr. Eyob Tekalign Tolina and his delegation on their visit to Pakistan. She stated that Pakistan highly values her bilateral ties with Ethiopia including trade and economic relations. The delegation was greatly impressed by Pakistan's effective resolution of economic challenges and expressed their keen interest in learning from the country's experiences. The admiration stemed from Pakistan's successful emergence from economic difficulties, making it a source of valuable insights for others seeking to navigate similar issues. This interest underscored a global recognition of Pakistan's experience as a valuable lesson in economic recovery. Dr. Shamshad Akhtar briefed the delegates on the latest economic developments, fiscal policy adjustments, and tax reforms undertaken by the Caretaker government.The meeting was attended by Governor State Bank Mr. Jameel Ahmed, FBR Chairman Mr. Amjad Zubair Tiwana and Secretary Finance Mr. Imdad Bosal. Meeting ended with the vote of thanks.
