ASHRAFI HOLDS MEETING WITH SOUTH AFRICAN HIGH COMMISSIONER TO DISCUSS PALESTINE CRISIS

Prime Minister’s Special Representative on Religious Affairs and Pakistani Diaspora in Middle East and Muslim Countries, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, in a significant diplomatic move, on Tuesday engaged in a meeting with the High Commissioner of South Africa, Mthuthuzeli Madikiza at the embassy. The focus of the discussion centered on the current situation in Palestine, fostering an exchange of perspectives. Expressing gratitude on behalf of Pakistan, Ashrafi who is also the chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council acknowledged the South African government and people for their support in filing a case at the International Court of Justice against injustices faced by Palestine. He emphasized that Pakistan's government and citizens appreciate South Africa's proactive role and stand in solidarity with them. Commissioner Mthuthuzeli Madikiza reiterated South Africa's commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Palestinian people against oppression and injustice. He affirmed that South Africa would continue to play a robust role in addressing the atrocities faced by the Palestinian population. Concluding his remarks, Ashrafi expressed that this diplomatic encounter signified the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and South Africa, especially in the context of raising a collective voice against injustices in Palestine. He said the collaborative efforts and shared commitment of both nations underscored the importance of international solidarity in addressing global crises.
