Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, presided over the 2nd consultative meeting of the Kashmir Advisory Committee. The members were briefed on the progress made on the recommendations of the 1st consultative meeting. The meeting was attended by Focal Person to SAPM, Ms. Sabien Hussein Mullick, DG. LAJA Dr. Rahim Awan, Advisor to SAPM on culture and education Prof. Zafar Sindhu, Senior Advisor to SAPM on humanitarian affairs Fasial Bari, Dr. Shahid Afridi, Advisor to SAPM Waqas Banoori, Dr. Waleed Rasool, Advisor to SAPM Fajar Rabia Pasha, Executive Member HRC Manzoor Masih, Chairman Al-Ansar Welfare Trust, Ishtiaq Ahmad Bhatti, Anchor Person Yasir Rehman, Barrister Sundas Malik, Representative Student Leader of Advisor Major Taseer and Rai Muhammad Nawaz Khan. Special Assistant to Prime Minister highlighted the need for strategic actions and sustained efforts to bring attention to the human rights violations by India in IIOJK and empower the people of Kashmir. In her address, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister provided a comprehensive overview of the recent successful meeting with Vice Chancellors from over 250 universities across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). She underscored the importance of harnessing Youth’s energy for impactful research and advocacy efforts in championing the Kashmir cause. She informed the members about the establishment of Kashmir cells in universities in AJK and Pakistan based on the committee's recommendations. She stressed the implementation of innovative measures including interactive sessions with students within universities. Mushaal gave details of ongoing initiatives to actively engage Kashmiri Diaspora in advancing the cause of Kashmir. She emphasized on the collaboration with foreign universities to shed light on the true picture of Indian atrocities and human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). She expressed her commitment to organizing special debates in prestigious foreign universities aimed at deeper understanding of the issue of Kashmir and garnering international support for the Kashmiri people. Mushaal emphasized the government's commitment to empowering minorities across the country, especially in AJK. She revealed that the establishment of two churches in AJK was nearing completion. She also drew attention to the grave challenges faced by minorities in India and especially in IIOJK. She expressed deep concerns over the Indian Government facilitation of RSS to spread its fascist ideology in the region. She emphasized that the RSS ideology posed a substantial threat, not only to the minorities in India but also to the regional peace. The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister voiced her concern over India's demographic alterations in IIOJK aimed at transforming the Muslim majority into a minority. She urged the United Nations to take immediate notice and implement effective measures to address these demographic changes. She emphasized that such manipulations posed a serious threat to the prospect of a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir enshrined in the UN resolutions. Mushaal announced the initiation of a global campaign by the Kashmir Advisory Committee to advocate for the release of Kashmiri leaders who were unjustly incarcerated under false pretexts in Indian jails. She declared the committee's determination to engage all international forums of justice to plead the cases of prominent figures such as Yasin Malik, Asia Andrabi, and other Kashmiri leaders.
