CHAIRMAN PMIC’S MEETING ON PSDP PROJECT TITLED “NAI GAJ DAM PROJECT AT DADU” AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR ITS TIMELY COMPLETION

Brig. (Retd.) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha, took cognizance of the concerns of the Prime Minister of Pakistan over the unwarranted delays in the completion of PSDP Projects. After showing dissatisfaction over the implementation status the monitoring task has been given to Engr. Aamir Hasan, Member PMIC (former retired Federal Secretary) for ensuring effective supervision of the project, currently under Monitoring, Evolution and Inspection at PMIC. 2. The Chairman PMIC, Brig. (Retd.) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha chaired the meeting held on 21st December, 2023 (Thursday) at Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission, Prime Minister’s Office, Islamabad attended by PMIC Officers Engr. Aamir Hasan, Member, Muhammad Saleh Narejo, Director and the officers of Ministry of Water Resources, WAPDA in person and Special Secretary, Irrigation Department, Commissioner Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner Dadu the officers of Government of Sindh through online (Zoom Video). 3. The representatives of Ministry of Water Resources, WAPDA and Special Secretary, Irrigation Department, Commissioner Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner Dadu the officers of Government of Sindh briefed the Chairman, PMIC on implementation status and also latest progress on decisions were made during the filed visit and meeting of Chairman, PMIC held on 02-11-2023 at Nai Gaj Dam Project, Dadu PMIC from Ministry of Water Resources and WAPDA regarding the delays in completion of the project and also meeting held at Chief Secretary Sindh office on 03-11-2023 at Karachi pertaining to issues raised by WAPDA regarding land acquisition, resettlement and road were also discussed with Chief Secretary, Revenue and Irrigation Departments of Government of Sindh. Directions were given during the meeting for speedy and effective completion of the project with deadlines which has been significantly delayed. The project once completed will cultivate an area of 28,800 acres besides flood protection of the downstream area, assure water supply to Manchar Lake and lower riparian, fisheries development, recharge of ground water and socio-economic uplift of the poor community. It will also produce 04 Megawatt of electricity for the local populace. 4. The Chairman, PMIC has stressed for completion of the project in true letter and spirit. The implementation report regarding progress in the project will be submitted to the Hon’able Prime Minister of Pakistan. *-*-*-*-* ?
