PR No. 188 CHAIRMAN PMIC’S VISIT TO PESHAWAR NORTHERN BYPASS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR ITS TIMELY COMPLETION Islamabad: November 24, 2023

Brig. (Retd.) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha, Chairman, PMIC took cognizance of the concerns of the Prime Minister of Pakistan over the unwarranted delays in the completion of PSDP Projects. The Chairman along with Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Kamal, Member and Mr. Muhammad Saleh Narejo, Director, PMIC visited Peshawar on 23 rd November 2023 and took briefings from the representatives of National Highway Authority (NHA) and concerned departments of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa pertaining to issues causing delay in completion of Peshawar Northern Bypass (PNBP) which mainly relates to possession of land on Package-2, Package-3A and Package-3B (423 Kanal) and security, followed by a site visit. The Chairman, PMIC asked the Commissioner Peshawar for his intervention for provision of land and security. The Commissioner Peshawar assured to provide the possession of land, vacate the occupied land and ensured fool proof security. It is pertinent to mention that Commissioner Peshawar has informed that 126 Kanals of land has been handed over to NHA on 24-11-2023, i.e. a day after the visit of PMIC Team. The General Manager and Project Director of National Highway Authority (NHA) assured to complete Package-3 and Package-2 latest by 31-12-2023 and 30-06-2024 respectively. The Chairman PMIC has directed for timely completion of the project which will ensure the intended benefits for the general public.
