These views were expressed by the Federal Minister for Human Rights, Khalil George, while addressing an event on the occasion of "International Day for Older Persons". The Federal Minister said that the example of the elderly is like a "thick shadow in the hot sun". There is much to learn from their experiences. The federal minister clarified in his message that this day is celebrated internationally on October 1st every year to draw attention to the importance of elderly people, their sufferings, needs and their rights in the society. The Federal Minister gave special emphasis and said that we should value and honor our elders. Not one day is reserved for seniors but 365 days of the year. Expressing regret, the federal minister said that in the West, the elderly are not valued, but in our country, unfortunately, the elderly do not have that status. Despite all the progress, the love of the elders could not be appreciated. The reason for the prayers of our elders is before you today. The Federal Minister also informed the participants about the initiatives of the Senior Citizens Council. Regarding the upcoming elections in the country, he said that it is our duty to conduct the election as a supervisor, but it is also our duty to correct the country's affairs. **
