FEDERAL HEALTH MINISTER DR. NADEEM JAN AFFIRMS STRONG COMMITMENT TO ENHANCING IMMUNIZATION COVERAGE ELECTRONIC IMMUNIZATION REGISTRY AND SOLARIZATION OF IMMUNIZATION CENTERS TO BE GAME CHANGERS

Federal Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan in a statement following a debriefing session by Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Kazi, DG, Federal Directorate of Immunization affirmed strong commitment to enhancing immunization coverage under EPI with the to achieve Universal Immunization Coverage. immunizatioOn Introduction of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Dr. Nadeem Jan stated that HPV vaccine is a powerful tool for preventing cervical cancer amongst young girls. Federal Health Minister stated that Solarization of immunization health facilities offers huge advantages, particularly with inconsistent power supply. Ministry of National Health Services Regulations & Coordination is taking initiative of Solarization of approx. 400 EPI Health Facilities all across Pakistan in the first phase. The initiative will improve the overall effectiveness of immunization programs. The initiative will expand to a large number of health facilities in Round two he said. Dr. Nadeem Jan further shared that National Electronic Immunuzation Registry is a powerful tool designed, developed and introduced by the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations & Coordination to enhance the performance of EPI Programme by facilitating the monitoring of individual immunization schedules and maintaining an electronic child registry of immunization. It aims to improve both coverage and efficiency of the immunization program towards Universal Immunization Coverage. Federal Health Minister expressed confidence in Pakistan's ability to enhance the Immunization Coverage through continued dedication and cooperation achieving the Universal Immunization Coverage.
