H.E. Mr. Neil Hawkins, Australian High Commissioner called on Minister for Defence Lt General Anwar Ali Hyder (Retd) at his office in Ministry of Defence today. Defence Minister emphasized that Pakistan is committed to supporting initiatives on peace. Two sides discussed peace and security in the regional and global context. The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in this regard, especially in the Afghanistan peace process. Bilateral cooperation avenues in the field of counter-terrorism and economics also came under discussion. Agreeing on the existence of enormous scope for strengthening and further cementing bilateral defence ties, both sides assured taking specific practical steps in this regard.
