"To commemorate the 76th anniversary of Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a ‘Flag Hoisting’ ceremony held at the High Commission of Pakistan in Mauritius on August 14th, 2023. More than 150 the Pakistanis community members’ alongwith with their families living across the Mauritius, and prominent Mauritian personalities attended the ceremony. The messages of the President of the Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif were read out. In his remarks, H.E. Muhammad Arshad Jan Pathan, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Mauritius highlighted the significance of Independence Day and also paid tribute to the leaders who united the Muslims of the sub-continent and achieved independence of our country. 76th anniversary cake cutting and joint photo session was also held. At the end of event, the High Commissioner thanked Pakistani diaspora and other guests for attending the event"
