The Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul organized an event to mark "Youm-c-Istehsal - 5 August 2019", On this day the BJP led government of India unilaterally and illegally repealed the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) followed by new wave of terror unleashed on Kashmiris. The event was attended by Pakistani nationals in Kabul as well as officials of the Embassy of Pakistan. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by playing of national anthem of Pakistan. Messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were also read out. Documentaries highlighting the legal status of Kashmir issue in the light of UN Charter and numerous UNSC resolutions were played. In his remarks, the Head of Mission, Ambassador Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani said that Indian actions of 5 August 2019 had no basis in international law and were in violation of the successive UNSC resolutions which called for the settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through a free and fair plebiscite under the auspices of the United Nations. He expressed solidarity with Kashmiri brethren and paid rich tribute to the sacrifices made by them for their legitimate rights. 05th August, 2023 The Head of Mission reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
