Essakhail Interchange to Ghulam Khan Afghan Border Motorway : new avenues of development in the southern districts of KPK Deputy Speaker National Assembly NHA GM Planning calls on NA Deputy Speaker

Deputy Speaker National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani has said that improving the communication system in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Bannu, is the chief priority of the current government. He said that the construction of the motorway from Essakhail Interchange to Ghulam Khan Afghan Border will open new avenues of development in the region and provide new employment opportunities to the local population. He expressed these views during his meeting with Shoaib Dogar General Manager of National High Authority (NHA) in Islamabad today. Senior officers of NHA was also present in the meeting. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly said that the present Government is taking special measures for the development of infrastructure and uplift of the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the construction of motorway from Esakhail Interchange to Ghulam Khan Afghan border will provide better traveling facilities, besides enhancing Pak-Afghan transit trade. He said that the incumbent Government has allocated substantial funds in the fiscal year budget 2023-24 for the feasibility study of the said project. He directed GM NHA to prepare the feasibility study of the project keeping in mind the ground realities so that the people of the area should take maximum benefit from the said project. General Manager National Highway Authority Shoaib Dogar while giving a detailed briefing to the Deputy Speaker on the motorway project from EssaKhail Interchange to Ghulam Khan said that the feasibility study of this project will be prepared keeping in mind the ground realities .He said that this motorway will be 165 kilometers long, which will pass through Laki Marwat, Bannu, Miran Shah and reach Pak-Afghan border. He assured Deputy Speaker that this project will be very beneficial for Pak-Afghan transit trade along with providing better travel facilities.
