The Secretary Workers Welfare Fund (WWF), Zulfiqar Ahmad arrived in Manila on May 30, 2023, to participate in the Asia Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) Dialogue on Achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The visit, scheduled for May 30-31, aimed to address crucial labor reforms and tackle issues related to migrant labor. The Secretary, accompanied by Aakif Iqbal from the Bureau of Immigration, embarked on this important mission to discuss pressing concerns affecting workers and migrants in the region. The AGCC Dialogue provided a platform for key stakeholders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and develop strategies to achieve sustainable development goals with a focus on labor welfare. During the event, the Secretary emphasized the significance of robust labor reforms to ensure the well-being and rights of workers, particularly migrant laborers who often face unique challenges.
