On the special directives of Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Rana Tanveer Hussain and Mr. Fazal Abbas Maken, Federal Secretary for Science & Technology, Dr. Shahzad Alam, Chairman PCSIR has arranged a First-ever meeting among Heads of S&T Organizations, Pakistan Academy of Sciences and ECO Science Foundation at PCSIR Head Office, Islamabad, Pakistan Academy of Sciences & ECO Science Foundation at PCSIR Head Office, Islamabad, on 27th January 2016.
Dr. Shahzad Alam, Chairman-PCSIR, being host, welcomed the Hon’able participants and briefed that the purpose of today’s meeting is to establish a close liaison between the S&T organizations and other scientific entities as Science and Technology are key drivers to development, because technological and scientific revolutions underpin economic advances, improvements in health systems, education and infrastructure.
The participants of the meeting appreciated the idea of holding such meetings and were of the view that this forum will provide a strong platform for scientific organizations for sharing of their resources and cooperation for executing bilateral projects of national interests.
The participants agreed that next meeting will be held in the last week of February, 2016 followed by series of meeting on rotations basis in every respective S&T organization, to discuss the possible ways of collaboration.
