To evaluate the progress of the Prime Minister's Youth Business & Agriculture Loan Scheme, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired an Online meeting with Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on youth affairs, State Bank representatives, Dr. Amjad Saqib Akhuwat Foundation, and all partner banks in youth loan scheme. All of the banks were directed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to facilitate easy access to loan lending to small businesses and the agricultural sector. He said that the Government's youth loan scheme is benefiting hundreds of thousands of unemployed youth in the country so this procedure needs to be quick and should be completed in due time. The Prime Minister has asked the Presidents of all the banks and the Minister of Finance to convene a Steering Committee to make sure that all issues related to easy disbursement of loans be settled and a subsequent meeting be settled. The Prime Minister of Pakistan was guaranteed by the presidents of all the banks in the country that they will take all possible measures to make the PMYBAL more successful than it already is. The Prime Minister has also urged all financial institutions to contribute as much as possible to the relief efforts for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey. SAPM, Shaza Fatima Khwaja while Briefing has ensured Prime Minister that Prime Minister’s Youth program team is working day and night to facilitate and aware youth about youth loan scheme and the opportunity if offers. She informed the Prime Minister that a total of 12 loans totaling 28 million had been distributed while providing an update on the PMYBAL's ongoing success process. Where Bank of Punjab loaned out 14 million (9 loans), Askari Bank loaned out.7.5 Million(1 loan), HBL loaned out 3Million(1 loan), and MCB loaned out 4Million (1 loan).
