The honorable Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari welcomed H.E. Wouter Plomp, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Pakistan in his office today. Matters of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting. The Ambassador spoke about the interest of Dutch Investors in the maritime sector of Pakistan to gain immense mutual benefits which was appreciated by the Minister. The Minister for Maritime Affairs highlighted the enormous opportunities in maritime sector of Pakistan for Netherlands. He also apprised the Ambassador about the ports performance and operations in Karachi and immense opportunity in fishery sector of Pakistan. Moreover, the Ambassador appreciated the recent soft launch of PIMEC project on which Minister apprised him about the idea and concept of the PIMEC and stated that MoMA is the patron while Pakistan Navy is the executor of the idea and it would open great opportunity for the Dutch investors and exhibitors as well. Furthermore, the Ambassador highlighted the areas of cooperation and collaboration in maritime sector and stressed on the public-private partnership. The Federal Secretary, Mr. Mathar Niaz Rana endorsed the idea and stated that exploring the possibilities for public-private partnership including all the involved stakeholder is the need of the hour. The Ambassador further expressed his desire of getting investment opportunities in Gwadar port which was dully acknowledged and complete assurance in this regard was given by both the Minister and the Federal Secretary. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks and exchange of souvenirs. *********
