Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi visited Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday, where he held important meetings with the heads of various departments. During the meeting with Additional Chief Secretary KP Shahab Ali Shah, he was briefed about various development projects for Kurram district. During the meeting, payment of land compensation to owners who handed over lands for Degree College No. 2 Parachinar, appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff and other facilities for the college were discussed in detail, on which the Additional Secretary issued orders to Deputy Commissioner Kurram and other concerned officials. The acquisition of land for the University of Parachinar was also discussed in detail and Deputy Commissioner Kurram was directed accordingly. Federal Minister Sajid Hussain Turi also discussed the compensation of land to the owners who gave land for Polytechnic College Parachinar and the provision of mandatory teaching staff for the college, on which the Additional Chief Secretary issued orders to the concerned departments. In the meeting, it was decided to prepare PC One for the construction of building for IT University Parachinar, Medical College Parachinar and network of roads giving easy access to farmers to transport their goods from to markets. To increase trade, tourism in the area and easy access to markets for the public, it was decided to prepare PC-1 for 100 km long road. To further promote women literacy rate in the area, PC-1 for establishment of 14 new Government Girls Primary Schools across the district was urged. PC-1 for establishment of 14 Livestock Veterinary Dispensaries for promotion of livestock and poultry was also planned in the meeting. Sajid Turi said that communication plays an important role in the overall development of any region so it is necessary to connect the district Kurram border area Kharlachi with motorway and CPEC. In the meeting it was decided to prepare PC-1 for Expressway connecting Isakhel via Banda Dawood Shah to Tall and to Kurram border Kharlachi. The meeting also decided on PC-1 for 8 km road from Army Check Post to Kerman Road, 10 km road from Malikhel to Kunj Alizai and 30 km road from Balimain to Kakhi Pul. It was also decided that 20 solarized tubewells will be installed across Kurram district for clean drinking water. Sajid Hussain Turi said that the people of Parachinar are knowledge seekers and book lovers and there is a dire need for a modern library full of academic, art, literature, reference, history, science and technology books. He said that the library building was constructed decades ago but lacks staff and books. Instructions to the concerned authorities for provision of staff and books to make literature both male and female functional were issued. It should be noted that Federal Minister Sajid Hussain Turi is elected Member of National Assembly from NA-46 Constituency of Karam District and has always played an important role in the construction and development of the Constituency. *******
