Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, and met with Chinese Charg d'Affaires Ms Pang Chunxue to express his grief and condolences over the deaths of Chinese nationals in the attack in Karachi University.
He was accompanied by Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Minister of State for External Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also wrote a special message of condolence to Chinese President Xi Jinping. He expressed sorrow and grief over the death of Chinese nationals. The Prime Minister said the entire Pakistani nation was in shock and grief over the brutal attack on its 'Iron Brothers'. He said the Pakistan extends its heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Government of China, the people of China and the families of the victims.
PM Sharif said Pakistan condemns this incident of terrorism in the strongest words and was determined to eradicate all forms of terrorism and terrorists from Pakistani soil. He assured that the incident would be investigated expeditiously and the country would make an example out of the culprits behind this horrific attack.
He said the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had been directed to reach Karachi on Wednesday and pledged that he won’t rest until these murderers of Chinese Nationals were arrested and hanged till death.
Shehbaz went on to say that any attack on iron ties between Pakistan and China was unbearable, and any such miscreant activity won’t be allowed to affect the great bilateral relations between the two states. He said all arrangements for repatriation of dead bodies and return of injured will be made.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also directed to increase the security of Chinese residents and institutions in Pakistan and make them foolproof. He reassured that no effort would be spared to bring these criminals to justice.
