World Autism Day is an official health-specific UN Day. It was celebrated on the 2nd of April as World Autism Awareness Day, since 2008. The day itself brings an individual organization together all around the world to aid in researches, diagnoses, treatment, and acceptance for those with a developmental path affected by autism. The Pilot Project of Inclusive Education (PPIE) under the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) under Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) organized an event on 01st April, 2022 at National Institute of Special Education (NISE), Islamabad. A large number of participants including professional staff of DGSE, teachers, parents of special children, teachers of Private Institute of Regulatory Authority (PIERA) and Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) attended the seminar. The program commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran and Naat e Rasool e Maqbool (S.W). Mr. Azhar Sajjad, Director General (Special Education) delineated the services of Directorate General of Special Education in his welcome address and briefed about the progress of different ongoing projects of PSDP, including Pilot Project of Inclusive Education (PPIE) and Autism Resource Center (ARC). Mr. Abdul Sattar Director General (Social Welfare), Ministry of Human Rights was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He appreciated the contribution of DGSE for the education, rehabilitation and wellbeing of autistic children and the services being provided to the special children by the DGSE.
