The Steering Committee on Housing and Construction Finance held its 48th meeting today in Islamabad. Amongst others, the meeting was attended by Chairman NAPHDA, Lt. General Anwar Ali Hyder, and representatives of different commercial banks including President NBP, President HBL, President Bank Al Falah, President Meezan Bank, President Silk Bank, and President UBL. The meeting reviewed overall performance of the commercial banks on the government’s flagship program Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar (MPMG). Governor State Bank Mr. Reza Baqir briefed the Committee on the progress with regard to financing by the commercial banks under the markup subsidy facility. As per the briefing, a total of 59,788 million rupees have been disbursed to?date by different commercial banks against 17,308 applications. The Committee also reviewed performance of the helpline/toll-free number established to facilitate consumers interested in home finance under the Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar program. A total of 161,163 calls were received during the month of March 2022 out of which 88% calls were answered within 20 seconds. A total of 109,551 inquiries raised by the consumers have been addressed by the concerned departments. The ratio of approval of loans is increasing day by day.
