Pakistan's Ambassador designate to United States of America Ambassador Masood Khan calls on Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also present during the meeting.
The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan desires to have strong ties with all countries including the US. He added that Pakistan-US relations are based on partnership and shared goals.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed Ambassador Masood Khan to work for further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He said that connectivity of Pakistani diaspora is one of the top most priorities of the Government and United States is home to a very vibrant Pakistani community which acts as a bridge between the two countries.
The Prime Minister also directed Ambassador-designate to work towards further strengthening Pakistan - US relations particularly for enhancement of trade, investment and public diplomacy. He emphasized on correctly projecting Pakistan's Foreign policy priorities.
Prime Minister Imran Khan wished Ambassador Masood Khan success for his new assignment.
Ambassador Masood Khan is an experienced diplomat and has previously served as Ambassador of Pakistan to China and Permanent Representative to United Nations ( including New York and Geneva). He has also previously served in Washington DC.
