Mobilizing private capital for the development and upgradation of public infrastructure and services is a crucial step towards a prosperous and forward-looking Pakistan. To this end, the Federal Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) is playing a central role in enabling the achievements of the government’s development agenda. P3A’s core strategic vision is to drive the uplift of the national PPP ecosystem, working with key stakeholder groups in various capacities to achieve that, while creating a dynamic market of bankable PPP projects at the federal level.
In light of its vision, the P3A with support from the Asian Development Bank is hosting a first-of-its-kind series of PPP workshops that brings together PPP units at the federal and provincial levels to brainstorm best practices in preparing and implementing PPP projects, navigate bottlenecks in Pakistan’s PPP landscape and encourage overall collaboration among various stakeholders.
The workshops aim to achieve three primary objectives, (a) Knowledge and experience sharing: exchange of ideas, best practices, and key learnings across the units during an open discourse; (b) Provision of expert insights: panel of international and national experts providing targeted advice curated to the specific requirements of each PPP unit to maximize value addition and extraction(c) Network creation: sustained and institutionalized communication and collaboration across the national PPP units to collectively advance the PPP ecosystem. P3A’s goal is to make this a recurrent event, expanding its scope, outreach, and impact by including an increasing number of stakeholder groups.
This PPP workshop series is scheduled to begin in December 2021, continuing into early next year.
