Andrei Metelista, Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan called on to M. Shabir Ali QureshiMinister for State, Ministry of Housing and Works here today in Islamabad. During the course of meeting, both sides discussed the various aspects of bilateral relationship and pledged to further cement them between two states. Both dignitaries discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the realm of construction and low cost housing. M. Shabir Ali Qureshi apprised the Ambassador regarding the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Vision of building 5million affordable houses for the poor and vulnerable segments of the society. He said thatHousing is the focus area of the present Government and Naya Pakistan Housing Program is flagship initiative which envisages provision of shelter for the citizens of Pakistan. Mr. Imran Zeb, Secretary Ministry of Housing and Works, briefed the Ambassador of Belarusabout the high rise buildings and other ongoing projects of the Ministry. He also apprised theAmbassador about the vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan under which a boom has beenseen in the construction industry as the tax exemptions and other facilities have been given in this field. Andrei Metelista, Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan appreciated the efforts of the Minister in the field of construction industry and has also shown keen interest in the projects. Furthermore he said that there is a lot of scope of mutual cooperation in various fields including constructionand low cost housing.
