UAE’s Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi called on Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib in his office in Islamabad.
Both dignitaries discussed matters of mutual interests including media cooperation, tourism, trade and climate change. The Minister of State said that Green Diplomacy will venture new avenues of promoting bilateral relations between countries.
Minister of State said that UAE and Pakistan enjoy cordial relations based on mutual trust. UAE is like another home for Pakistanis.
It was agreed that both countries has vast potentials of bilateral trade which need to be untapped. Minister of State appreciated H.E Alzabi’s visit to Faisalabad to explore business potential in textile and garment industry. Minister of State informed the ambassador that Pakistan Agricultural and Textile products are the best in the world. The market for these products may be explored by the Pakistani businessmen in the Middle-East, the Minister of State further said.
Both dignitaries agreed on enhancing cooperation between UAE’s news agency WAM and Pakistan’s Associated Press of Pakistan. This will be a great step forward in the free flow of information between the two countries.
Minister of State apprised H.E. Alzaabi on the economic turnaround in Pakistan especially in times of Covid. Our foreign reserves, exports and remittances have touched high levels. Overseas Pakistanis have sent $1 billion in Roshan Digital Account, which shows trust in the steps taken by present government led by P.M Imran Khan.
There are 1.5 million Pakistanis working in UAE. H.E Alzaabi appreciated the contribution of Pakistani workers in the development of UAE.
Minister of State informed the ambassador about various step taken by Pakistan’s government in social protection program.
The Ambassador informed the Minister of State that participation in Expo 2020, will provide opportunity to Pakistani businessmen to develop their business and connect with businessmen around the world.
Pakistan and UAE are celebrating 50th anniversary of their relations. Minister of State expressed his pleasure over completion of this milestone in the relationship of both brotherly countries. This anniversary will be fully celebrated by both countries.
Minister of State Farrukh Habib extended his best wishes to Crown Prince of Abu-Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Farrukh Habib also emphasized on stronger people to people contacts, frequent mutual visits by delegations, media delegations and other member of civil society between the two countries.
