A section of the press has mentioned that SBP and Ministry of Finance had objected to the growth numbers presented and finalized in the National Accounts Committee meeting held on 21-5-2021. It is clarified that these are baseless assertions. As is typical of any technical forum of experts, questions were asked during the meeting and appropriate answers were provided to the satisfaction of questioners with full backing of requisite data. The final numbers released by the NAC were unanimously approved by the meeting.
