President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the need to promote mega sports events in the country to attract young talent and project Pakistan’s soft image in the world. He stated that the launching of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) would provide a quality platform to Kashmiri youth to display their Cricket talent, besides promoting Kashmir’s beautiful landscapes and culture at the global level. The President made these remarks while talking to the Management of KPL, which called on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today. Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Affairs, Mr Shehryar Afridi, President KPL, Mr Arif Malik, CEO KPL, Mr Chaudhary Shahzad Akhtar, members of senior management of KPL, franchise owners and senior officials of the Government attended the meeting. While appreciating the efforts of KPL Management for launching the Cricket premier league in Kashmir, the President expressed the hope that the mega event would prove to be successful and would allow the Kashmiri youth to exhibit their Cricket skills. The Management of KPL briefed the President about the purpose and objectives of KPL, saying that it would help the cause of Kashmir across the world and would also put Kashmir on Global Sports Map. The President assured the delegation of extending all possible support for highlighting the event at national and international levels.
