Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr.Shireen Mazari said in her tweet Yesterday, I was asked by many activists and journalists to look into the case of Sarmad Sultan. I have been trying to get info since then. I have now got copy of his brother's report that he filed also plus report sent to my office. I am glad Sarmad is home. She further said, however, the attack on his house & the injury to his brother are serious offences that need proper investigation. There are too many questions including why abduction is not mentioned in brother's report. We need to know what exactly happened.
She also mentioned One should not draw ready conclusions that this was a case of Enforced Disappearance because it detracts from definite cases of such horrendous acts which have no place in a democracy. Our government is moving to end this through a law. Have asked that Police and FIA investigate this case fast.
