PR No.168 BISP LAUNCHES DOOR TO DOOR SURVEY IN LAKKI MARWAT COOPERATION FROM ALL STAKEHOLDERS VITAL FOR SUCCESS OF NSER SURVEY: MARVI ISLAMABAD

Minister of State and Chairperson BISP, MNA Marvi Memon launched door to door survey in Lakki Marwat in presence of all stakeholders today. Lakki Marwat is one of the 12 pilot phase door to door districts of the new survey of BISP with estimated caseload of 100,755 households. Charsadda is the other door to door pilot phase district from KPK, whereas as in Haripur desk registration has been done for updating National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER).

Chairperson BISP held a meeting with stakeholders that included representatives from local government Nazims from all political parties headed by District Chairman Ashfaq Khan Minakhel and local administration. DCO Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan and DPO Syed Khalid Hamdani were also present. She stated that this apolitical survey registering the most underprivileged segment of the society was a gift from the Prime Minister Nawz Sharif for the people of Lakki Marwat. She added that the support and monitoring by the local stakeholders would be vital for the successful completion of the survey. She also suggested establishing a monitoring cell to supervise the activities of door to door survey.

Ms. Marvi highlighted that no paper forms are being distributed for the survey; instead the survey is being done on a tablet through an app. There is no fee for the survey and public should remain vigilant of fraudsters and report any such activity on BISP hotline 0800-26477. Local stakeholders congratulated Chairperson on the launch of survey in Lakki Marwat and assured her of their full cooperation.

The Chairperson also visited the training center where staff of the BISP partner firm was being trained for the survey. Talking to social mobilizers, the Chairperson said that effective communication is the back bone for the success of any activity. While keeping the local norms in mind, social mobilizers should ensure that key messages of BISP reach everyone, thus enhancing the outreach of BISP.

While addressing the enumerators during the launch of survey, Chairperson BISP said that data collection is a sacred responsibility because through authentic registration, betterment can be brought in the lives of the poorest of the poor by making them part of social safety programmes. She urged the field enumerators to perform their assigned duties with full commitment and dedication ensuring 100% coverage of the area. Chairperson was pleased to meet women enumerators that were part of survey teams. She said that their presence was a sign of real women empowerment in Pakistan and was important for a successful survey in Lakki Marwat.

During the visit, Ms. Marvi also attended a large jalsa, organized by Senior Vice President PML-N Lakki Marwat, Akhtar Munir Marwat and Nasir Kamal Khan Marwat. While addressing, the Chairperson said that this survey would play an important role in the welfare of Lakki Marwat. BISP would pay special emphasis on FR Lakki Marwat to ensure its full coverage in the survey. The gathering was addressed by General Secretary PML(N) Habibullah Khan, Tarifullan khan and Faridullah khan Advocate as well.
