President Dr. Arif Alvi has underscored the need for making SAARC as a vibrant organization that can help in promoting regional cooperation and improving lives of the people of South Asia. He said that the regional situation was currently posing challenges to security of the region due to the troubling relations of India with her neighbours and the atrocities being committed by her against the Muslims of Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and other minority groups of India. He expressed these views while talking to the Outgoing Ambassador of Nepal, Ms. Sewa Lamsal Adhikari, who paid a farewell call on him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today. The President told the Ambassador that Pakistan and Nepal enjoyed tremendously excellent cooperation in all areas of mutual benefits. He said both countries had identical views on regional and international issues and relations between the two friendly countries needed to be further strengthened in the areas of defence, trade and culture. The President also appreciated the contribution of the Ambassador for further improving bilateral relations between the two countries during her tenure. The Ambassador informed that her country accorded high priority to its relations with Pakistan and wanted to further enhance defence and cultural cooperation. The High Commissioner-designate of Pakistan to the United Kingdom, Mr. Moazzam Ahmad Khan, also called on the President at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today. The President asked the High Commissioner-designate to work for further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He said that there was a great potential for investment in Pakistan and British Companies needed to be encouraged to benefit from Pakistan’s investment friendly environment. The President asked the High Commissioner-designate to facilitate Pakistani community and expose the real face of India which has unleashed a reign of terror against the innocent people of IIOJ&K.
