H.E Mr Mastuda Kuinori, Ambassador of Government of Japan to Pakistan called on Mr. Nadeem Babar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petroleum at Petroleum Division today.
Mr. Nadeem Babar welcomed the Ambassador and shared key areas of cooperation in energy and petroleum sector between both the countries.
The SAPM discussed oil and gas policy in line with particular areas of opportunities which includes exploration & production activities, construction of new LNG terminals, expansion of LPG sector and setting up of Oil Marketing strategic storage and trading hub in near future. Mr. Babar said that these incremental steps would revolutionized the petroleum sector of the country by opening it up for private sector.
The SAPM hoped that Japanese companies and investors would extend their business interests in light of our new policies and improved ease-of - doing-business steps in petroleum sector of Pakistan.
The Ambassador expressed his pleasure at opening up of oil and gas sectors and commended the improved ease of doing business environment in the country. He also stressed the need of the regional connectivity for cooperation in energy sector.
