74th Independence Day of Pakistan celebrated in Hong Kong

The 74th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated at Pakistan Club on Friday. In view of the COVID 19 epidemic and the social distancing guidelines, the event was attended only by the Consulate General of Pakistan’s officials and office bearer of the Pakistan Association of Hong Kong, says a press release received here today from Hong Kong. The event began with the recitation of Holy Quran and raising of national flag by the Consulate General of Pakistan Hong Kong to the tune of the national anthem. Messages of the President and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were also read at the occasion. In their messages, President and the Prime Minister congratulated the entire nation on the auspicious occasion of 74th National Independence Day. While paying tribute to those who laid their lives while defending and protecting the motherland, they urged the nation to remain steadfast and follow “Unity, Faith and Discipline”. They also highlighted the sufferings of Kashmiris in IIOJK and prayed for their freedom from Indian oppression. Consul General Bilal Ahmad Butt congratulated the community of Pakistan In Hong Kong on this occasion and underlined the importance of celebrating the Independence Day. He also urged the participants not to forget our Kashmiri brethren in IIOJK who have been subjected to harsh brutalities by Indian security forces for the last three decades and stuck completed under brutal lock down since more than a year. At the closing of the ceremony Chief Imam prayes for safety and prosperity of Pakistan and Hong Kong..
