President Dr. Arif Alvi has emphasized the need for adopting Innovative Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) as they can greatly contribute to improving the performance and efficiency of government organizations. He stated this while launching the website of Ministry of Maritime Affairs, today. The President said that the 4th Industrial Revolution, such as Internet of Things, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, have changed the pattern of life because these technologies have not only increased communication among people but their productivity as well. He mentioned that social media tools were changing rapidly and public offices needed to ensure easy access of public government offices through effective use of these tools. Earlier, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, briefed the President about the role and achievements of his Ministry. While congratulating the Minister for launching the website, the President said that the world had switched over to paperless environment and the government organizations, in Pakistan, also needed to adopt the culture of E-office.
