Special Assistant to PM on Youth Affairs, Muhammad Usman Dar has said that the spirit of volunteerism displayed by Corona Relief Tiger Force to selflessly serve their communities in time of crisis is highly commendable.
The SAPM appreciated efforts of the civil administrations, especially in the provinces of Punjab and KPK for actively engaging volunteers after formation of required steering committees and arranging proper orientation sessions for the volunteers.
Mr. Dar said this while chairing separate meetings through video link with commissioners Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi divisions, today. All Deputy Commissioners of these divisions also participated in the meetings.
Commissioner D.G Khan Mr. Sajid Zafar Dal informed the meeting that more than 64000 volunteers have registered themselves in the Corona Relief Tiger Force (CRTF) from the division. Among these more than 5000 volunteers have been assigned various duties in all districts of the division including ensuring government's SoP in mosques, registering unemployed labor in Ehsas Kafalat programme and checking prices/ availability of commodities at various markets and utility stores.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Mr. Asif Iqbal Ch apprised the meeting that registered volunteers are self motivated and their services are adequately utilized in support of the civil administration. He said that more than 3000 volunteers are deputed on utility stores, registration of unemployed labor in Ehsas Kafalat and NADRA centres.
Commissioner Rawalpindi division Capt. (R) M. Mahmood informed on progress made in regard to utilization of registered volunteers in the division. He said that presently about 1000 volunteers are actively working on ground in the division.
DCs Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum apprised on district wise performance of CRTF.
Mr. Dar appreciated the passion of volunteers assisting the government in these difficult times. He also acknowledged the good work done by civil administration for effectively utilising services of volunteers in the relief activities.
Mr. Dar urged all commissioners to arrange proper training and orientation sessions before assigning duties to the volunteers. He asked for sharing updates on performance of CRTF on regular basis.
