Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh chairs a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) at the Cabinet Block today (30th April 2020).
During the meeting, four mega projects, including construction of 62-km two-lane Lodhran-Multan Section of N-5 with two flyovers, two Interchanges and 4 minor bridges at a cost of Rs 12.43 billion, establishment of Punjab Human Capital Investment Project in 11 less developed districts of Punjab at a cost of Rs 32 billion and establishment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Irrigated Agriculture Improvement Project (KP-IAIP) to be implemented in all 26 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of Rs 30 billion were approved.
The ECNEC also accorded principled approval to Diamer Basha Dam Project (Acquisition of Land and Resettlement) at a cost of Rs 175.43 billion with instruction to the Planning Division to further rationalise the cost on the pay and allowances component of the project.
