Federal minister for Inter provincial coordination (IPC), Dr. Fehmida Mirza visited Pakistan Sports Complex today to monitor the ongoing renovation work and arrangements prior to the Davis Cup tie. “It’s a proud moment for Pakistan that now international teams face no hesitation in coming to Pakistan for playing sports and all the security related barriers that existed in the past in the way of our athletes have been removed”. Federal minister for inter provincial coordination, Dr. Fehmida Mirza visited the sports complex today in order to examine the renovation work ongoing in Roshan hall prior to the Davis cup tie, which is going to be held in Pakistan sports complex on 6th and 7th of march. DG Pakistan Sports Board, Madam Amna Imran briefed and updated her regarding all the ongoing work there. Pakistan’s tennis team will have a face off with Slovenia’s team. “It is for the first time that a European team is visiting Pakistan for Davis cup, a moment of proud for our country that now all the security related barriers placed in the way of our athletes have been lifted and all international teams now face no hesitation in coming to Pakistan for playing sports." Dr. Fehmida expressed contentedly. She praised the efforts of the army for bringing back peace in the country, therefore creating a very congenial environment for sports. Meanwhile, she also met with President of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Mr. Salim Saifullah khan and discussed the security related arrangements to be done prior to the Davis cup. Dr. Fehmida Mirza also expressed her happiness over the fact that Pakistan was hosting ITF Junior World Ranking Championship in which athletes from 19 countries are taking part. Moreover, while reiterating her support to the PTF president she assured him that all efforts will be made to make Davis Cup tie a huge success.
