Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar chaired a meeting to review the PSDP/ADP Projects under the Prime Ministers National Agriculture Emergency Initiative. Federal Secretary NFS&R, Chairman PARC, Provincial Secretaries from Agriculture Departments of Punjab, KPK and Balochistan, M.D Pakistan Oilseed Development Board, D.G Federal Water Management Cell, D.G Federal Seed Certification & Registration Department, CEO Livestock & Dairy Development Board, CEO Fisheries Development Board and other senior officials of the ministry also attended the meeting.
Federal Secretary Dr. Hashim Popalzai gave a detailed presentation on the ongoing status of the agricultural projects.
Under the PM’s Agriculture Emergency Program, 13 projects are launched across the country in collaboration with respective Provincial Agriculture Departments of all the provinces. The progress of the projects in first two quarters and activities to be carried out in next two quarters were discussed.
Execution of two projects out of total three for conservation and increased productivity of water has been started in KPK, Balochistan & Punjab. Similarly, two projects of fisheries sector out of three have been executed in three provinces. All three projects of livestock have been started in three provinces Rs. 155.0 million has been released to provinces in the first two quarters. It is also pertinent to mention the project implementation units of these above mentioned projects at federal level are being established through recruitment.
Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar said that at the end of the third quarter a meeting for a detailed review will be convened to assess the progress, he also added these projects will be taken up on a fast track and will be completed within a stipulated time.
